7th International Workshop on Semisitting Position

from December 8th

to December 10th 2024

Tübingen, Germany

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

the semi-sitting position (SSP) provides a number of advantages in skull base neurosurgery. Due to potential complications associated with the SSP, this positioning is still controversial. To avoid SSP-related complications a joint effort between neurosurgeons and anesthesiologists is mandatory.

The Department of Anesthesiology and the Department of Neurosurgery of the Eberhard-Karls University Tuebingen, Germany have 20-years of common experience (>1400 cases) in SSP.

Aiming to contribute the knowledge and to reduce preconceptions, we have initiated the "International Workshop on Semisitting Position" in 2013. This workshop represents a unique opportunity to explore the latest advancements, techniques, and benefits associated with this critical positioning method in neurosurgical procedures. Our esteemed speakers and experts will share their invaluable insights and experiences, highlighting the nuances of the semi-sitting position. Through detailed presentations, live demonstrations, and interactive sessions, we aim to deepen the collective knowledge and provide hands-on experience.

This workshop addresses to both anesthesiologists and neurosurgeons interested to refine their knowledge in SSP. The number of participants is deliberately small to allow a lively exchange with the faculty and to enable hands-on training.

We are looking forward to welcome you in Tübingen.
